In Japan, there are
two kinds of beech trees. One is Fagus crenata and the other is
Fagus japonica. There are many kinds of trees in the Beech family, such
as chestnut and oak, other than beech. Oak is used for furniture and farming
tools. Today we have a new understanding of forests. Among of all the forests,
beech has come to obtain a remarkably high evaluation. This may be a consequence
of a better understanding the cultural value of the tree, and not just from
the viewpoint of natural environmental protection. |
