Kakunodate is famous as Kyoto in miniture. Kayokan is a public hotel in the Kakunodate suburbs. Although it is little apart from sightseeing spots, guests will not feel inconvenienced, because shuttle buses run every day.

Take the JR Akita Shinkansen and go to Kakunodate Station. From this station, take a bus to Akita or Sakai. Get off the bus at Kayokan-mae after about a 20 minute drive. Or you can take a bus to Kakunodate/Tazawako from Akita Station and get off at Kayokan-mae about 90 minute drive.
