Their
targets are to collect, save and study traditional folk songs and folk entertainment.
They takes pride in 150,000 voice recorded songs, 5,000 video recorded plays,
and 50 to 60 thousands of books and materials. Further, they have recorded
the motions and gestures of traditional folk dances in digital form using
their unique approach. Another activity they are addressing is a new cyber
community using computer systems through the Internet. A craft museum where
people can learn how to make pottery and a small museum to exhibit fossils
are set up in the village. There is a special program for high school students
to visit nearby farms and experience farming, which helps them stay in close
touch with the community.
